Think bank-vault security—for your mail and packages. The Vault XL combines extra storage space with the heavy steel construction Fort Knox is known for.

The Vault XL is 12" taller than the standard Vault, giving you more room to collect deliveries between trips to the mailbox. It features a ¼" solid-steel body, hand-welded seams, an incoming-mail baffle, and reinforced recessed doors designed to limit exposed pry points.

It’s the extra space you need, backed by the same Fort Knox protection.

What Makes It Different

The Vault XL gives you more storage height without sacrificing security. Its baffled delivery door allows incoming mail and packages to drop into the locked compartment below, helping protect stored deliveries from reach-in attempts.

The Vault Lock EXTREME with a Medeco® lock and 2 keys is included. Combined with the steel body and reinforced doors, it provides substantial protection for the deliveries you leave inside.

More storage, with a defined package opening: The Vault XL accepts individual packages up to 6" H x 10" W x 10" D. Its taller body provides additional space below the delivery door for accumulated mail and packages.

How It Works

Simple. Secure. Built Like a Tank.

  1. The carrier pulls down the handle, raising the baffle inside.
  2. Mail and packages are placed into the baffled delivery area.
  3. As the door closes, deliveries fall into the locked compartment below.
  4. You unlock the retrieval door to collect your mail and packages.

Need outgoing mail? Add the optional outgoing-mail slot and ¼"-thick flag. Outgoing envelopes are stored separately in the upper portion of the mailbox for carrier pickup.

The Vault XL comes with 4 pre-drilled bottom mounting holes spaced 6 ¾" apart.

  • In-Ground Post: 5" x 5" x 50", sized for the XL and XXL Vaults
  • Surface Mount Post: 5" x 5" x 18", for sidewalks, driveways, and other suitable hard surfaces
  • Masonry installation: Can be set into masonry for a permanent, built-in appearance

I awoke around 2:30 this morning to what I first thought was a pre 4th of July fireworks display. Then I looked out my front window to see the car pulling out of my driveway. Evidently the post of the Fort Knox Mailbox impeded the three point turn which was being made in my driveway. I regret not having gone outside to get a license plate number and perhaps summoning the police to see if the driver of the vehicle was intoxicated. With Soobies 'gentlemens club' just two doors away from me, I am sure that alcohol may have been a factor in this mornings incident. Now I will have to buy some rubbing compound and get the automobile paint off of the mailbox post. It occurs to me the vehicle took second place. As a welder and fabricator there are a few changes I'd considered making to the mailbox but I am pleased that I still have a mailbox, thanks to a landlord that has his and my best interests at heart.

Fort Knox Mailbox,

We picked up our new Fort Knox Mailbox on the way north on I-5 from California to Aloha, Oregon a few weeks ago. Finally got the box all cemented in, a perfect installation using three bags of concrete.

Our Mailman loves it and claims it to be the best he's seen.

Had people stealing our mail and the post office lady in my area is a bum. Wasn't getting mail and it was getting stolen. Lost 18k in checks from insurance due to theft had to get rewritten, huge pain. No issues since we put in the mailbox. Showed up on time and works how it should. My one complaint: I was hoping the antitheft feature would be sharp so I could get to work one day and find a thief caught with his hand in the mailbox. It's solid plate steal, no spikes. Can't will everything in life.
