The Senator is a powerhouse mailbox: 148 pounds of heavy-duty steel, including a ¼" steel body, recessed doors, and reinforced protection for both mail and packages.
It combines the proven design of our Fortress Mailbox with a separate locking package compartment below. From checks and prescriptions to online orders, everything stays secure in one rugged unit.

Inspired by a Great Idea—from a Real Senator
One of our customers, a former senator, asked if we could adapt the Fortress design to include a separate package section. We loved the idea—and the Senator Mailbox was born.
Today, it’s a favorite among customers who want no-compromise security for every kind of delivery.
How It Works
The Senator has three sections:

Upper Section (unlocked)
- The mail carrier pulls down the handle and inserts mail into the incoming slot.
- Outgoing mail rests on a separate enclosed shelf below the incoming slot.
- It cannot be locked under postal standards, but it remains hidden behind the door.
- Includes a ¼" powder-coated steel flag.

Middle Section (locked)
- This is where you retrieve incoming mail.
- It stays secure and is accessible only with your key.

Lower Section (package compartment)
- Comes standard with a Slam Lock.
- After retrieving your packages, leave the door slightly ajar. The carrier places new packages inside and closes the door, which automatically locks.
- Holds packages up to approximately 5 ½" H x 10 ½" W x 16" D—about the size of a large shoebox.
Additional details:
- Pre-drilled on the bottom (4 holes, 6 ¾" apart) to fit our Large Posts.
- Mountable to other suitable existing surfaces.
- Finished with thick powder coating inside and out for maximum durability.

- Front and rear doors keyed alike
- If an upgraded lock is purchased, both doors receive the upgraded lock

All Fort Knox Mailboxes are built in the USA and ship directly from our facility in Grants Pass, Oregon. Each unit is fabricated for maximum quality and securely packaged to handle the stress of transit.

- Not in stock: Production may take up to 18 business days.
- Multiple units: Contact us for current lead times.
Transit Time
- FedEx or UPS Ground: Typically 2–6 business days, depending on location.
- Freight: 1–10 business days for oversized or multi-unit shipments (quote required).
Shipping Carrier
- FedEx or UPS Ground for approximately 1–3 Senator Mailboxes without steel racks.
- Freight for 4+ units or orders including racks (often more cost-effective for larger quantities).
