One of our most popular upgrades, the Fort Knox Slam-Lock is designed for customers who regularly receive packages larger than the standard 1 3/4″ mail slot. It lets you leave the main package door unlocked so your carrier can make a secure delivery.
Your mail carrier simply pulls the polished chrome knob to open the Slam-Lock door, removes any outgoing mail, and places your incoming mail and packages inside. Once the door is shut, the Slam-Lock automatically locks behind them — helping keep your deliveries secure until you’re ready to retrieve them.

These folks at Fort Knox are the real deal. They mean what they say and do what they mean in a very intentional way. My mailbox has been worth every penny and when I needed a new locking device because of damage to the existing one, they came through as they promised. Well done you good folks at Fort Knox.
We have had the slam-lock mailboxes that you provided for us for a few weeks now, and we are VERY happy with them. They provide the security we want without limiting the size of the packages that can be put into the mailbox by the 1 3/4" slot. Our mail carrier is also happy because he does not have to put packages that won't fit through the 1 3/4" slot behind our gate or, when it is raining, take those packages back to the post office with him and leave a message for us to pick up the package at the post office. I can't imagine why anyone would purchase the standard lock mailbox when the slam-lock mailboxes cost just a little more.
